At PVKC Community Partners, we believe a strong community includes its four-legged members.
Together, we’re building a better future for pets and the people who love them.
Where We Started
The Penobscot Valley Kennel Club (PVKC) started their Dog Food Pantry Program in 2010 with a simple act of community care: delivering bagged dog food to Samaritan Inc. Over the past decade, PVKC volunteers have grown this program into a vital regional resource.
What We Do
PVKC Community Partners has expanded this work by providing regular deliveries to additional food pantries including the Caring Community Cupboard in Old Town and Loaves and Fishes in Ellsworth. In 2024, the dog food pantry program reached a major milestone: distributing over 5,000 pounds of dog food in one calendar year.
Where We're Headed
As the need grows and pantry reliance increases, PVKC Community Partners works to strengthen community support to maintain consistent monthly dog food deliveries in reliable quantities, expand geographic reach to serve pantries in their own communities, and increase the volume of food distributed to meet growing demand among food-challenged households.

PVKC Community Partners supports dogs in food-insecure households by providing consistent, free access to dog food through local food pantries. Our 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization was formed in 2024 by the Penobscot Valley Kennel Club, which has served the Great Bangor and Eastern Maine regions of Maine since its founding in 1964.
